Pro, Global, or X?

Finally convinced my father to purchase an android device. Only question is... Which one?

few things to keep in mind ...he needs it to be rooted, because of the tethering. Also will be taking full advantage of google voice. He wants to sync it with his office in PA so when he's at home in NY, people will think he's calling from PA. Other than that, what does everyone think?

It all depends on your father really.

Does he want a keyboard? Droid 2 or Pro fills that void
Does he want a big screen? Can't go wrong with the X
Does he travel out of country alot? Droid Global fills that need.

If you want the easiest root out of those 3, I believe the X would be the answer. The global and Pro are new so I don't think there's a root out for that yet, at least from what i've seen.

He doesn't have to root to tether either, I personally use Easytether, the downside is it's through usb, but hey it charges the phone at the same time (two birds one stone:))

Ultimately its your father's decision so he'll have to go to the store and try the devices out for himself. See how it feels in his hand, comfort, speed, use, etc. No matter which device he gets I'm sure he'll be happy you convinced him.

Go for the global. Then if he's ever out of the country he'll be just fine. Plus the faster processor is always a bonus.

Pro, no way looks too much like a Blackberry. Global, only if you travel. If the D2 is cheaper get that. X if you don't want a physical keyboard and don't mind the larger size.

True, True. Verizon's going to be rolling out their LTE "4G" network this next week, so look for a Droid which utilizes it.

We all wish! We aren't going to get any LTE phones until the end of Q2. They'll have nothing but computers and MiFis on LTE before then. I hope I'm wrong, but there's too much proof.
Oh, and about which phone. I've had all three, and I have to say, the Droid Pro was fastest. Maybe it was the smaller screen, but it just felt faster. I decided to keep the Droid 2 Global, just for the keyboard. The extra 200 mhz of speed isn't noticeable really, its just cool to say :)

I can't pick a new droid either. I been going back and forth between the x and the global. But there is something werid, a tech in the verizon store on 34th st said "wait, trust me". After that I said I know about the tegra but he just said wait once more. Not really talking about the tegra, not even really changing he's voice after i said it.
