Droid X vs Droid 2 Global (former Blackberry user)

Hello, I am a newbie here and am having trouble deciding. I actually ordered the Droid 2 Global on Friday and will get it tomorrow ... but after comparing them at the Verizon store tonight, I think I may have made a mistake :(

I realized love, love, LOVE the big screen on the Droid X. I do a lot of web surfing, watching movies, social networking, etc... However, coming from a Blackberry Tour, I am finding the touch screen super hard, especially with my big Irish hands and fingers! That's why I ordered the Droid 2 Global - for the slide out keypad. And also for travel, but my husband is getting the Global and is fine with it, so now I don't really need the global capability since he will have it.

Just read that the D2Global also has the android 2.2 already installed. If I change to the Droid X can I update to the current 2.2?

What are some of the pros and cons of each?

If I change my mind, can I send the D2Global back and get the DX?

How hard is the learning curve coming from a Blackberry Tour?

Thanks to all of you in advance. I can tell this forum will be super helpful, no matter which one I decide on :)

Might want to check out the Droid Pro. My fiance had a Blackberry Bold and went to a touch screen and couldn't get used to it, now is switching to a Pro.

Thanks for the reply, but I want the big screen ...and the Droid Pro screen is even smaller than the Droid 2 Global :(

I, too, am a new Droid 2 Global user. I had a Palm Treo and couldn't abide the idea of having to use a keyboard on a screen. I really like having the keyboard, and the screen is still so much bigger than my Treo that I don't feel a lack from not having the slightly larger screen of the X. You will have to decide for yourself, of course, but if you do much email and calendar work you might not like having to use the on-screen keyboard.

Well for me it's easy, Droid X is the clear winner. Physical keyboards(to me) are worthless, I still have the original droid and it's nothing but a nuisance( a heavy/thick one) and I want to switch to the droid X just to have a thinner/lighter phone. Couple that with the beautifully large screen and it's a knock out.

No brainer if you travel outside the US: D2G has a GSM SIM slot so it will work overseas, DX will only work in countries with CDMA (not many). Even though your husband has a global phone, you may miss yours when you travel :) D2G's still camera is better, DX does high def video recording. D2G has a faster processor (stock), DX has a larger screen and is thinner and lighter.

I like the physical keyboard on the D2G, but I was way faster with the vertical keyboard on my Blackjack and Treo 650. I'm still faster on the D2G than I ever was on my iPhone, even after two years of practice.

Both are great phones, it's just a matter of what features are more important to you. D2G was my choice because of the GSM SIM.
