I called the *22899 number with all this talk about the phone auto dialing. To my surprise my PRL is 52642. I live in a 3G fringe area so I will report back tomorrow if this makes a difference when I get in a good 3G area and possibly 4G area.

I'm at about 15000 in a strong area. 4g with 3-4 bars all the time.

I did the same over the weekend and I now have the same PRL as you have. Unfortunately I haven't noticed any difference in signal strength. In fact, I'm paranoid that my signal might actually be a little worse. After reading all of those warnings to not manually update the PRL, plus the fact that you have to trick the phone by adding the number to the phone book makes me think bad idea.

My signal bars seem to be the same. I have noticed this morning at work that I have more constant 3G connection where I work (basement of a hospital). We do have 3G antennas throughout the hospital that connect to Verizon's 3G network. Before I could stand directly under one and have no signal at all. I wasn't able to test a good 4G connection yet but I know I was able to connect to 4G on the way to work this morning.

No difference throughout the day. Has anyone else done this? I wonder why the PRL's are so far apart???

I've done this. Updating my PRL made a huge difference for me. I would constantly lose signal in my house and in the IT building at my college, I would also struggle to maintain service. Since then, I've had zero issues. I did it about 2 weeks ago and it took me about 48 hours before I started noticing differences.

Are you on the same PRL? Im going to try doing this in a 4G area to see if the number changes. I did this in a bad 3G area the other night and it gave me the 52642 PRL.

I tried this again in a very strong 4G area (30-40Mbps/7-12Mbps w/ 4 bars) and the call did not last long at all; maybe 5 - 7 seconds.

The PRL did NOT change.

15098. What do these mean? And why doesn't *22898 dial for me?
