Power on at keyboard open causing battery drain in pocket

I noticed my droid's battery mysteriously decreasing to maybe five hours in pocket from ten-twelve hours. I've isolated the cause of the problem and want to know whether anyone knows a solution to this: the keyboard is opening up in my pocket as a result of increased bulk from a new rubber case, causing the screen to turn on. Is there any way to make it so that the screen only turns on when the power button is pressed?

Does it happen to all of your pants? I know for a fact this happens to me with one of the jeans. So I went on and put the phone in my back pocket or shirt pockets when walking. I have a Qmadix case.
