Power Button Issue

Hey, the power button on my droid is broken and I am unable to turn off my phone without removing the battery. Do you know any way to turn off my phone without damaging it and rooting it? (If you also have a fix to the broken button that would be awesome too

Unfortunately, there likely isn't an easy to fix a broken power button. What is wrong with it? Can you not push it down (it's stuck), or does it just not register.

As for a workaround: there are several apps in the marketplace. Just search for "shut down", and you will find a plethora of widgets and programs. Best of luck!

One minor thing here. If your power button is broke and you do manage to shut the phone off, how do you plan to turn it back on

Plug it in to a charger, and it will reboot.

Well, the button actually can be pressed, it just doesn't register with the system

im having a similar issue, not to threadjack but if you find any hardware solution let me know, im more than comfortable taking things apart. mine has to be pressed in very hard to get it to work
