Possible to put together a rom to collect passwords and such?

With all the excitement about the leaked Froyo and stuff, I was wondering if it's possible for some developer to put a ROM together in a way that would allow it to collect data for nefarious purposes.

I'm sure we don't have to worry about that from any of the developers here.

Yes. I'm sure a developer could change some xmls in the Browser.apk so that clicking any of the options in "Do you want this browser to remember the password" so that all of them remember it if that's what you mean....but even if it stores the data, it's not going to send it out unless it's programmed to do so.
