POP Mail Problem Godaddy and 1and1

Has anybody had problems getting POP mail over the last couple of days? My phone has worked great with POP mail for 8 months but for the last two days it states "loading messages" and never stops spinning. I have mail at Godaddy and 1and1 but same problem on each. I updated to 2.2 but I can't believe that this has anything to do with it.

On top of all this, the stock client lacks basic features...like the ability to empty the trash. Use any other program you can find to check your email.
