Police Radio App Available

MoMojo Technologies have just released the first version of Police Radio for Android. We invite you to check it to check us out on the market. Though this is the first release many new features are planned for upcoming versions including GPS/Map support, additional channel sources, channel categorization, etc. Please feel free to check us out. All feedback is welcome. Its a great alternative to Police Stream also.

This kind of app would e so illegal in the UK that you would lose your phone and your freedom for a couple of months.

Scanners are not illegal but what is is listening to any emergency services or armed services communications especially the police and as this app is purely for that purpose it would be illegal. In the UK that is.

hmmm, very interesting.. gonna give this a shot. :)

Nice to see you, the dev posting. Instills faith in the users knowing the dev is active in the android community

I listen to a scanner all day, Police, Fire, Railroad... When I am out, I just take my 200 channel Radio Shack scanner with me... beats the heck out of trying fiddle with an application. I photograph trains as a hobby, and I would much rather have the portable with me, than trying to mess around with a feed on my Droid, besides, I doubt that app covers AAR radio feeds anyway.

I love my Droid, but there are some functions/apps that don't make much sense, this might be one of them.

Why is that? Are scanners illigal in the UK? that is not the case in the US.

Yes and No, you better check your local laws, it is illegal to have a police scanner in a car in some places/states in the US.

Here is the law in Michigan.

Michigan Legislature - Section 750.508

I would suggest you check your local/state laws.

I can get this for free just by bookmarking any of the many, many sites that stream police/fire/emergency feeds.

$1.49 is 50% more than I've paid for apps that do something unique and special.

$1.49 is not that much dude...

locale = $10
Rom Manager = $3.99
Homerun Game = $5.99 or something

there's a lot more expensive apps than this one... guy's gotta eat! ;)
