I'm sorry but the people that are complaining just because the razor is coming out are whiny babies. Who cares this is what the world of phones is about you buy 1 and then the next month 1 comes out....

However as I've said before I love my droid bionic minus the data issue. Honestly I wouldn't trade for a phone that has a battery that is not removable. i.e. the iphone

However, as is the droid bionic is a defective phone. there should be no issue getting your upgrade back and your money credited back into your account so that you can get a new phone to replace a defective 1.

Now after that update is released things maybe different but until then they should be replacing people's phones who are not satisfied with a defective hand set.

I agree with 99% of what you said. I wouldn't call the people who are upset about the razr coming out 'whiny babies'. It's just how it all went down, the principle behind it, and among other things ethics in consumer satisfaction. But as you are, I love my Bionic, and again, like you said, we will see what the update holds for us.

if yours is not working correctly you can call *611 and have it replaced. it's a pretty simple process actually.
the Bionic itself is not defective... perhaps you just have a bad unit.

Dang I feel special, I must be some sort of x-men psychic super genius/luckiest man in the world. When I bought my Bionic, I was coming from an X2, and I said to myself "I will join the Peace Corps and work to end world hunger if this phone doesn't have problems the first month or two." Sure enough, sorry Africa...

Am I really alone in not being hulk-smash-angry because of a few minor bugs? While I agree the data issue is ridiculous, it certainly doesn't "ruin" my phone or prevent me from using it. If it happens, I just reboot it. A minor 2 minute inconvenience I braced myself for which I KNOW will be fixed soon (yeah, yeah, I'm sorry to the handful of people who claim this fix doesn't work, which I fail to understand/fully accept). Wow, so you have to store a few apps in your 8gb of internal storage for now, God forbid. I don't really care about the screen, to the more nit picky folks I see what you're saying, but just cause you have OCD vision doesn't mean the phone sucks. Am I upset about these stupid bugs? Yes. Am I suffering even the slightest buyer's remorse? Not at all. Maybe it helps being a life long PC gamer, but 99% of PC games released have a patch within the first month or two. Just happens. They did open and/or closed betas and it was in development for months, if not years, BUT there are still bugs. Such is life.

And I'm sick of hearing both sides of the argument at this point. Why can't people just leave us happy Bionic owners alone? And happy owners, why can't we learn to just ignore the haters? Why does every thread have to have a troll who talks about how stupid we are/screwed over we were or how we're the ones with no patience cause we couldn't wait for the next best thing? I think even a 7 year old can comprehend there's always something better around the corner (maybe better than most adults actually). If you fail to accept this point, then you shouldn't ever spend more than $150 on electronics. Again, maybe I'm just really special in being able to see the bigger picture here, knowing it's blatantly obvious this phone will have ICS eventually, and being able to sacrifice a few minutes out of my day to restart my phone only for now, but for some apparently odd reason I love my Bionic and can't wait for this update.

In summation, suck it up. It's not that big of a deal. I also forked over $300 for this thing. I knew the risks (I thought everybody did at this point) and I have no problem dealing with them as I know they'll be resolved. If you don't want it, return it. If you don't have one, then shut up and stop criticizing our phone. Your opinion means nothing to me and I only end up feeling sorry for you and your need to look intelligent and informed. This thing is the shiz and I love wasting my free time on it. Patience is a virtue people, and the smartphone world will bring this classic saying to life more than ever before.

Oh, and also, no way in hell should we be offered to switch phones. That is the most ridiculous suggestion I've ever heard when it comes to phones. Welcome to the corporate world America, spend a lot of money and you're going to be disappointed in something.

Unfortunately I'm reminded of something that happened back in 2000 concerning a company called Icons Replicas. They made movie and TV series prop replicas. You can see some of the stuff they made at ICONS MUSEUM

Basically they took money and ended up producing very little. One of the biggies was a full size replica of the B9 robot from the TV series Lost In Space. They sold them for about $10,000 to $12,000 a pop and had orders for about 90 or so before they went under. In the end they made only 8.

You're asking how this reminds me of this thread? OK, I was part of an group that had bought something from Icons but didn't get anything (it wasn't a robot and I did get my money back after several months). Most were out a lot of cash because they didn't get their robot. Now, every once in a while, another company announced that they got the license for the B9 robot. Well the Icons Survivors (as they called themselves) would contact the new company and say they should get one for free as they paid for one already. If the new company was willing to sell one for half price (about $6,000) that wasn't good enough. It was free or nothing.

I'm saying this because I don't think a company will just give you a new phone, even if it's the same company. In this case you have a phone (unlike the B9 customers), whether you like it or not . If Motorola would be willing to take half off a RAZR, would that be acceptable?

No, it's called misrepresentation.

I disagree. My Bionic arrived exactly as advertised.

Did someone at Verizon tell you it had a faster processor, or a 3D camera or something? Or did they promise to put a moratorium on all new phone technology for 6 months after your purchase?

I analyzed the specs of the Bionic, I made my decision, and I bought it. Me. I did it. No one tricked me or held a gun to my head. It was just me.

the problem with the droid bionics is that it is a major major major issue with almost every single phone.

So why didn't you return it immediately? I learned over a decade ago to NEVER buy anything based on the promise of some feature or bug fix to be delivered later. If it isn't worth every dollar today then don't buy it.

Yes because the way technology, particularly cell phone technology, works is the exact same as over a decade ago...get used to patches and bug fixes on new things. It's how it is and will be for quite some time......

I can't believe people are really taking this seriously . You bought a product , you had 14 days to test it and you decided to keep it , obviously you liked it if you decided to keep it . You saw what you are buying , it's a phone , it runs Android and it makes phone calls , it's faster than most of the phones out there . Sure it has some bugs , all of them have , but you decided it's worth the money , it's not like you bought a cable from china over eBay .
You are picking on the fact they said "A machine to rule them all" again you read the reviews , you tested the device and keep it . I don't see Apple fans screaming that their devices aren't made from fairy dust ( "magical" ) , RedBull drinkers complaining they can't fly or Axe users asking for refunds cause they couldn't get the girls . I don't know , maybe this is a new concept for you , but it's been used for ages . Here , you should read something about it Advertising - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The phone they launched is still a dual-core phone , 1GB RAM , it runs the same OS , probably it has the same crappy camera and a fair amount of bugs but you decided you want it , cause they weren't suppose to release a new phone ??????????!!!!! What in the history of cell phone manufacturers made you think that ?

If you're a part of this community, there's no reason to be asking for a refund. Everyone here knew that these 3 new phones were coming out very soon after the Bionic because it had been delayed for so long.

Sorry, this is one of those times where we get to say, "We told you so."

This thread is pitiful. I don't understand how it survived 13 pages in the freakin' Bionic forum? At least relocate it to a DEBATE forum or something! We get enough of this in every single other thread!

Um had it replaced....it an overall issue with all bionics. That's why they r pushing an ota fix....
You think they would do a massive it's for a small percentage of phone.
Go read a data thread....based on massive amounts of reading, speaking with moto and Verizon techs, and experience... I would estimate 90% of bionics have the major data loss issue.

So its not so simple bud!

I can't stand when someone unintelligent talks down to people and has no tangible knowledge of the situation.

Sorry shades I just meant thinking they deserve a new phone bc a better one comes out so soon is lame. It is how the game works.
However since the bionic is currently a defective phone, there should be a system in place to credit those accounts, of the people who purchased this phone before the data issues were known, with cost and upgrade that way they can get their new razr or vigor or prime lol.

So you're saying that having to reboot, battery pull, or do whatever the f I have to to get my data back doesn't make the phone defective?
Sorry bud I love my bionic and im not giving it up. However its defective until its fixed and the only ethical business practice is to replace ( out of the question till nov. Since all will still have the problem ) or refund.

Having to reboot 4 times while watching netflix or streaming over zunocast ruins the experience.

I don't want a different phone or a refund but I do think its the RIGHT thing to do for people who don't want to wait till november for a fix.

You don't have a bionic get out troll...

if you had been a part of the convo or any bionic thread you'd know that most of us did return ours during the 14 days and got a new one only to find out about 2 weeks after it was released that its an issue with a majority of all bionics produced. At that point first day buyers were past 14 days return and now can only get certified used( which will have the same issue till Nov.)

The data issue is not an issue with ALL Bionics as you state. Clearly you cannot read as many of us have stated we have had ZERO data/connectivity issues whatsoever. The patch which is coming in November is a standard procedure for ALL devices. All of the manufacturers have it written in the contract with the carriers that they will release bug fixes within certain timeframes. For the Bionic there are at least 2 patches coming from Moto to resolve issues we are having with the devices. This number does NOT include OS upgrades.

Dont call somebody unintelligent without any basis, "bud".
