if you were to violate verizons tos, do you have to pay anything or would they just kill the contract? like, if one wanted to purposely find a way out without having to pay the termination fee, could they simply just do something on the no no list, get caught and get out? or is it not that simple and instead covered in chocolate and lawsuits and fines?

probably wouldnt cancel the contract unless you found a loophole. if something would happen, then theyd probably just charge u.
 
... hypothetically, you could join the army, get deployment orders to afghanistan, send orders to Verizon.... Walla. Out of contract. Still have to go to Afghanistan. Eh, that's how last 6 years been for me at least :)

There's no way to get out of the contract without paying. If you violate it, they terminate and you pay the fees you are legally bound to pay. Then you're out money and a phone.
