Playing Videos sent as text messages

A quick search yielded no results. On my friend's Droid 2, when receiving a video MMS, the video won't play. If you long-press and select play nothing happens. I have a Droid 1 (rooted) so am no help. Is there a setting that allows these to be played? Thanks!
