Play Music Issues

So my phone downloaded the latest play music software. In Google's great wisdom, the songs in my playlists somehow disappeared though the names of the playlists themselves remained. Well, after considerable time placing my songs back in their proper playlists, I am unable to arrange the songs within the playlist. Before, you would simply press and hold the song and then drag it up or down as you desired. Now you could hold your finger down until it got gangrene and you still can not drag the files up and down. What exactly am I missing?

From the main screen you cannot reorder. If you click the current playing track and then touch the music logo at the top right (has a music note on it), it brings up a NEW playlist screen which allows you to reorder by dragging the tracks. I think you are supposed to be able to do this in both screens, but only one allows me to.
