phone won't stop ringing!

I don't know I'd anyone else has had this problem but my phone has started making a faint ringing noise (different from my normal one) And it comes from the ear piece and won't stop. Even if I turn the phone off then back on. Help!

Sounds obvious but do a hard reset before you panic...could be a software glitch caused by an app you downloaded....if that doesn't fix it it is likely hardware and needs to be replaced
