Phone may be messing up idk please help

So about 2 days ago my phone all by itself started picking random things on its own and the only way to make it stop is by taking out the battery and cleaning the screen. today my back touch button stopped working and its doing the random pushing again. is this a sign i need to send my phone off or what?

Sounds like the possessed Droid syndrome. The usual suggestion is to do a factory data reset on the phone. Verizon will make you do that anyways before giving you a replacement.

Can't really comment on the cause though. Do you use a non OEM (motorola) charger? Some people say that's the problem.

I use the charger that came with it. how do i do the restore to factory settings though?
