Phone coming today - what pre-work needs done?

Unfortunately, I was out of town Friday and missed Fed Ex. They should be back today.

I have not upgraded Android>Android before. I've been looking around the forum and I see what I would need to do if I don't want my apps to migrate, but if I want apps, contacts, etc. to all move to the SG3, do I need to do anything?

Do a backup in Accounts and Sync before shutting down your current phone and activating the new phone, once you activate new phone just do a backup Assistant Plus sync, also try this App called SMS Backup+ to backup all your SMS and recent call log , your apps will be in the Google play store once you register your Gmail account with Google play, once in Google play just go to Menu My Apps, there you will see all the Apps you ever downloaded, and yes you will have to reload the Apps to the new phone.

There is a backup app in which you can export all of your current settings, apps, contacts on a server as well. Just though you should know.

Backup Assistant Plus. its on all VZW phones.

Evidently, I've been fortunate. I never ran BAP on my DX. Running it now. Looks like it may take a while...

Your contacts should sync automatically with your gmail account (my understanding, certainly no professional)

I hope you have your S3. I am going stir crazy waiting on fed ex right now. Don't even want to take a shower because im afraid I will miss them haha.
