Phase 2 authentication problems

So, on my school network we have a guest network, and a user authenticated network. I'm a registered user, but I always have terrible reception/signal strength. I talked with the IT folks yesterday, but all we could ascertain was that the "phase 2 authentication" wasn't staying on "MSCHAPV2" when selected.

Anybody have experience with this? Basically, the droid logs onto the guest network, then switches to the 8021x network, then back to the guest network. The guest network has limited features (no texting, no uploads, etc), so I'd like it to stay on the 8021x.

Anyway, I'm stumped and this is my last resort.

The credentials from your authentication password to the server should remain constant so I'm curious why the IT folks feel something is changing. Are you able to connect with computer to the schools wifi without issues?

Does the schools network support a VPN?

I haven't used a computer to get on to the school's network. I don't know about the VPN, but I can certainly ask. The Droid itself won't keep the MSCHAV2 setting, it keeps reverting back to "None."

Thanks. The network sees my phone, and it says it's getting full strength, but the phone shows a poor connection, then drops and tries to reconnect a few times. Guess I'll wait for the next update...
