PC wont recognize S3

My work pc, a windows 7 64 bit recognizes my phone and I can transfer files between the phone and the pc. However, my home pc, also a windows 7 64 bit will not recognize that my phone is plugged in.

Any ideas? It tried to install drivers but something failed and I can't get it to work

Did you install the Samsung USB drivers? If you Google search for it, you should come across an installer that you can download.
