Pandora or Slacker?

When I download the Pandora App it cautions you on the fact that it uses a lot of data and you are responsible for the charges. This maybe a stupid question but is that an issue if you have unlimited data?

I had to reinstall my apps today after a factory reset, and I must say something is going on with Slacker - it sounds good! Still no option to cache stations like on the BB, but at least my front left speaker in my Jeep doesn't crack anymore.

I think both are fine, but slacker has served me better. I like old punk and slacker seems to have a better variety. However, my reason for posting is to ask if anyone has used "i Music" much? I just downloaded but I haven't used it much.

So if I have only the web and email, (not unlimited service) am I going to be running over?? What is the cap on the web and email vs unlimited? I listen to Pandora about 2hrs a day.

Slacker and Pandora both sound fine to me. Last FM sounds like garbage. Last FM sounds like it's a REALLY low bit rate. it's not even close.

EDIT: Slacker at times does something funny with the bass. so I guess so far Pandora sounds the best to me. all my testing has been down with headphones or hooked up an played through my surround sound system. i wouldn't quite call myself an audiophile but i am definitely an audio enthusiast.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you're on VZW and have the Eris, and you have the $29.99 data package, you have the unlimited web/email package already. So, listen to Pandora and Slacker all day/night long. :icon_ banana:You're ok.

Pandora- I use if I feel like listening to songs that have similiar feeling/sound to it. It's nice if you prefer listening to a particular type of sound while working or something.

I find Pandora to create Sat radio style themed stations. It's like XM for free, kinda... Only there is a Tivo twist. You can thumbs up or down any song.

For instance: Bluestraveler Radio plays DMB, Spin Doctors, Bluestraveler (of course), and many other jamband types. It used to play jack johnson, but I thumbs downed most. It hasn't playd a jack johnson song in a few days.

I don't think they let you get service on a vzw smartphone without unltd data.

I was sold on Pandora after yesterday. I made a holiday channel and all the songs it played were from artists similar to all my other channels. I thought it was pretty awesome considering all I did was put in for holiday music. Sounds great in my car hooked up through my aux port.

This is my fav funtion. I love seeing the tivo inspired rating system. And I love seeing it actually work.

Couldn't you just go to your Pandora account on the computer and block out Jack Johnson all together?

I've been using Slacker since day one of getting the Droid and really like it's UI and the sound quality is near CD when played through my car's sound system. My only gripe is that it's buggy and it seems that the little 10 second Slacker commercials make the next song stop loading properly (even when I have 4 full bars and 3G). I usually have to go to another station and it starts playing fine. It's just those commercials. I think it's a ploy to get you to by the subscription based service lol.

Slacker also has a great web interface that syncs with the mobile interface. If you've played a station, or created a station, on either of them you'll be able to come back to that station later.
