Painfully slow

So, I have a Verizon Droid, and lately it has been PAINFULLY slow. I've rebooted, taken the battery out, but when I power it up, and unlock, it takes 10-15 seconds just to display the home page. Apps force close a lot. Touching an input area it takes 10-15 seconds for the on screen keyboard to come up....if it comes up at all.

Anyone know of this probelm (or similar?) and have any suggestions that might work?

Nope. Just downloaded a bunch of apps, but nothing that seems too out of the ordinary.

Try checking on how many apps you bave running in the background.
