outlook sync

My droid 2 synced with outlook for about 5 months-- just by plugging it in the usb port. it stopped inexplicable a few weeks ago. when I plug in now I get an error message that the "device driver software was not successfully installed." I've uninstalled the motorola device driver and reinstalled, but it still doesn't work. actually the calendar syncs with google calendar, but I don't like google contacts and can't get the contacts to sync. what should I do?

I have been using and syncing mine for 6-7 months, since I got the phone. Never through the USB cable. In "settings/accounts & sync" set up your outlook exchange server, it will then sync as often as you request, effortlessly. On that topic though, my "exchange Activesync" just disappeared as a choice in my calendar when adding an event.

I'm in a remote location from our exchange server. the emails get synced, but not calendar and contacts.

how do I get a driver that works? I keep getting messages: "MTP USB device has driver problems" or that the MTP USB device failed.

not sure about the driver, however, if your email syncs you just have turn on Calendar and Contact sync, they too will sync remotely.
