OTA or radio?

Just got an SMS from verizon this am telling me to *228, "due to network chngs".I am on Rootzboat with 4.0.3 and baseband I515.09/E515/EK02.Ignore? Do it and lose ROM/root? Wait for someone to post new baseband (if that's what it is?)

*228 doesn't work on phones with sim cards. The lady at Verizon told me not to do it, and that it doesn't let you do it if you try

I had heard this before. Not sure why this would be being sent by VZW then.

I'll just stick with what I have loaded at the moment. In general, I never take OTA's and only update via ROM's or posted radios. Just curious as to what would be in this. The 4.0.3 or a new radio? Or something for my prior phone (D-inc)?

OK, just to clarify, I am NOT thinking of doing this.
I was wondering 1) why would vzw be sending me this text? 2) Assuming it isn't an error is it referring to a new OTA or radio?

i wouldnt do it if you want a new radio or 4.0.3 there are download links but i hear stories of people *228 ing verizon with 4g phones and their sim car gets all messed up . Take your chances if you want but if they are sending you a ota you just get it.

Where did you hear that? I just tried it. It does nothing. It tells you the number is invalid.
