one button root

Thanks Doug, I'll try this out when I get home to my computer and can get my hands on her device (no jokes, or if you prefer, jokes).

Crazy question, but if I root the phone will I lose all my apps and settings?
The process of rooting will not cause that. With recovery and loading of custom roms it is highly recommended that you wipr the data and cache though. But thats is a different thread.

Also apps are tied to your gmail. Forever. Anytime you log on to a phone with your Gmail account the apps will show up in the market for you to download.

help pleaseee....

my boss is having a problem rooting his dinc. he said it seems to be getting hung up on installing the recovery. i told him i would take care of it for him. i've been seeing maybe there are some issues with windows seven? i have a windows seven netbook and a vista laptop, which one should i use? all my experience is with droid 1 rooting so if there is a step by step someone could link me to i would really appreciate it... thanks!!

also it says i need to install drivers. will they install as i'm running the program or is there somewhere else i need to download them from. it says install hboot drivers contained in the package. a little help would be much appreciated. i would really like to not mess up his phone.

Where you installed the tool there will be a hboot drivers.htm open it and itll have all the info you will need.

In the directory you installed the tool. There will be a file called hboot drivers.htm. Just open that file.

oh ok thanks. i thought i was opening the driver file folder not a website link. downloading the drivers now.

the person that i'm helping out said that he seems to keep getting hung up when installing the recovery. have you heard of any issues like that? thanks for your help, i really can't screw this up.
