i read about what you just posted immediately after i asked my question, however i was still a tad unclear on something. however, you made it crystal clear. i did both and now im enjoying wifi. you sir are a saint. thank you very much.

is it supposed to stay on "flashing recovery image. do not touch your phone!" forever even after the phone's restarted? or if it still says that but has restarted into the OS does that mean rooting completed and its just stuck on that message in the unrevoked window?

Edit: Phone was not rooted, tried installing/running rom manager and it said it hadn't been rooted.

So let me get this straight! you basically download this program and hook your phone up via the usb and do what it says and then you get root access? is that right!

Im getting stuck on waiting for 5 seconds.
But if i change it from charge only to sync it will go forward to "waiting for 3 more seconds"
Then it gets stuck, i cant figure out why it is not going any further?
I have win 7, i read something about it but was not quite sure.

ok i dont think this is working. i get to the part where it says done on the unrevoked program then my screen comes black with green text askes me to reboot or apply sd xard update and other things. what am i sappose to do now?

am i missing something? when i run reflash.exe and plug in my phone (its on) it just says waiting for device..

and yes i do have debugging enabled... what setting should it be on (charge, sync, drive)

Sweet got it... just messing with it finally got it..

Can you elaborate on "just messing with it?" Trying to root my fiancee's dinc I get stuck on "waiting for device". USB debugging is on and the phone is in drive mode. Tried the unrevoked program on xp and ubuntu, same results.
