Old Motorola Bag phone

My grandparents happen to have an old bag phone from the mid 90s that they no longer use because they got a new flip phone. I think it would be a much better idea to have a bag phone because it is much more powerful. Is it still possible to use a device like this anywhere?

Much more powerful than what? A Ti-83 has more power than that thing!
