Mine had the old app, but then updated itself to the new one.

Same. I was shocked when I saw that, but it updated to the new one pretty quickly.

should update to the new market after the old one is opened, used and then fully closed.

doesn't work for me I used the old market to download apps and closed it now nothing. still same old market.

I used the old market several times yesterday. After I woke up this morning I noticed the new one.

Restarted phone same old market crap. Tried it multiple times and still OLD market.
