Where is my update? Did it get lost in space some where? Anyone else still waiting?
ROFL... mine's probably lost in space with your's... but when I least expect it, it'll show up....

YOU DONT NEED TO DO ANYTHING ELSE BESIDES THE DIRECTIONS BELOW! FOLLOW THEM TO A T AND YOULL BE FINE! IF LESS THEN 40% BATTERY REMAINING PLUG PHONE TO CHARGER
Ok first off download astro file manager from the market then in the preferences check the enable browser download. Now go to the link below. Thats the only file you need. As soon as its downloaded go back to astro and rename the file as update NOTHING ELSE! then turn your phone off and turn back on holding both ther power and x button. When the little exclamation point comes up release the buttons then push up on the volume control and push the camera button at the same time. It will give you options use the d-pad to navigate to apply update.zip and hit x. It will install then ask you if you want to reboot then hit x and your done! Froyo galore!

thank you SO much for your advice!
quick question: is the link you provided for the larger 76m version (and not the smaller 40-something)? and is it the most up-to-date version? I know I will still (hopefully) eventually get the FRG22 from verizon, but I want to make sure I don't install the original version of FRG01b that needed a patch or something.
I'm not doubting you at all, I put my droid's life in your hands, I just feel better if I ask first haha.
I don''t know what you could be looking at. Use these instructions instead.
Manual Android 2.2 Update for Motorola DROID | Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
There is no difference to the best of my knowledge between the two updates. Other then size they are still the same.

thanks for the advice! I saw those instructions but I didn't know if I should use those files since they are from august 3rd. I thought there was some issue with the original file everyone was manually installing?

If you want the OTA patch update, use this file: https://android.clients.google.com/updates/voles/signed-voles-FRG01B-from-ESE81.e48e48ff.zip
If you want the full system update (fully replaces your /system instead of patching), use this file: 9046f5a3ec09.signed-voles-ota-45394.zip
If you want the full system update with root, use this file: http://bit.ly/frg01b

ugh I'm so confused. I don't know which one I want. I have a stock droid running 2.1. I've never done anything to it besides accepting the OTA 2.1 update. I want to manually update because people in this forum said that manually updating produced fewer problems then the OTA update.
I thought this sounded simple, but now I've gotten so many different links and differing statements (bigger is better, there is no difference in sizes) that I don't really know which file to use.
PS I really appreciate your advice. sorry if this comes off as a little grumpy, I am just feeling overwhelmed.
No problem, the link I posted is the link directly from google. Its the 45.2mb OTA update that is being pushed out. All you do by following my instructions is download it from google instead of waiting for verizon to tell you its your turn.YOU DONT NEED TO DO ANYTHING ELSE BESIDES THE DIRECTIONS BELOW! I understand completely.
Link #1 is the exact same as receiving the OTA.
Link #2 is likely what will be used to restore bricked Droids (for now anyway), as it's the full FRG01B system. It should theoretically be a cleaner install because it doesn't just patch 2.1, it fully replaces it. The end result is still a Droid running FRG01B, though.
Link #3 is the exact same as #2, but you end up with root - and I posted that just because I couldn't remember if you wanted that or not from your original post.
I get your frustration, but that's the tradeoff for following a site like this with all the leak news, etc.![]()
Now that I have the update to 2.2, how do i get adobe flash player installed?
