OFFICIAL Droid X 2.2 Solutions/Issues Thread

I rooted 2.1. Then downloaded OTA 2.2 and it didn't install. I them unrooted my phone (that ninja icon is gone.) And downloaded again and installed and it still failed. Please help!

Droid X appeared to be bricked by v2.2, but...

Downloaded the update manually, hit Install and my phone rebooted ... and hung on the Motorola logo. Would not turn off, would not keep going. The green LED would flash when the screen was blank, but nothing else. Removed/installed battery- same thing. Put the phone in my holster, then at 1pm realized an alarm was going off! Still same screen, green LED, nothing else; would not turn off by holding the power button. The alarm would snooze, but kept coming back.

Got home, took battery out and left it for 30+ minutes. When I put it back in, phone booted up fine; everything appears to be in order. I do have v2.2.

Any ideas? Did this happen to anyone else?

UPDATE: Looks like this is happening to a number of others. Leaving the battery out for more than a few min. appears to be the key...

This has been a common issue. I personally do not reccommend trying to do an OTA with a rooted X. I would suggest you wipe then retry the OTA to 2.2

What's with the order of text messages? In 2.1 the newest unread was at the top, now it's in some weird ass order that I can't figure out. Looks almost like it sorts the latest convos that I sent a message at the very top then all the new incomings beneath those? wtfbbqsauce?

please fix this!!! this is truly annoying. why sort text messages out of sequence?

I noticed this as well... I don't particularly like it either.

yea i dont know why its doing that either but its annoying any one have a solution?

Yes this is happening to quite a few users. When the battery is removed it needs to be left out for at least 1 min. This should address the issue for 99% of the cases.

Just got my new DX, wireless network question

I just received my new DX yesterday (seems like perfect timing with Froyo out now). Today I upgraded to Froyo with no problems. I do have a wireless network question. When I am home I have the DX connect to my wireless network (as I have read it's faster than 3G). I am also using the Battery Widget from Market. So when I left this morning, I had 100% battery and I used Battery Widget to turn off Wifi. When I pulled in my driveway today, it hoped back on my wireless network without me telling it to. And my battery is at 50% (I placed a few calls today and about 5 or 6 txt msgs). Is it somehow know that I was within range of my home wireless network or has it been looking for wireless networks all day today and I didn't know it? I definitely remember for sure turning OFF Wifi using the Battery Widget. Any help?

I have the same battery widget, but have never used it to turn off wifi. I use power control. You could also use the wifi toggle widget.
