I did the OTA update and was rooted before i did this. I have the super user icon but it seems i lost root access.
I rooted without ADB and wondered if i have to re root now that i did the update?
Can anyone help me out? If i have to re root can i do it with doing it the ADB way?

Always defaults to mobile site since froyo update

Ever since I updated it always takes me to the mobile site instead of the full version. For some of these sites, I was never even aware there was a mobile version and there isn't an option on the page to click to change it to full. Is there a way to make it not go to mobile sites?

Also this has been an issue for a while with 2.1 and is still there in 2.2. In my launcher pro when I unlock the phone it was what appears to be a weather animation everytime. Its always the same animation and I have to either wait till its done or touch the screen once before I can click on anything. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix this?

I could be wrong but I believe you will have to wait for 2.2 to be rooted then follow those procedures.

I'm quite disappointed that Verizon decided to force me to lock my phone using a numeric or alpha password in Froyo.

I don't need anyone protecting me from myself, thank you very much.

So now I have to log into my phone fifty times a day, even when I'm at home! And I can't even use the pattern.

Why would they do this? ugh.

To fix that go to your company's Outlook webmail and go to Options->Mobile Devices. Delete all the profiles in there and the next time your phone sync's with Exchange you will be able to turn off the security lock.

Okay, downloaded 2.2 and my phone is 10x faster. Love it. Haven't had any problems but this one. When I receive a text message, it doesn't show at the top like it always has. Now, it comes up somewhere in the middle of my old texts. Anyone else having this problem? Solution? I didn't see anything in text settings.

For the mobile websites, at least for D1,

open browser, in address bar type about:config, go

Nothing will change, press menu, more, settings, scroll to the bottom, change UA string to desktop

For the weather, do you have Beautiful widgets? If so go to configure for it and uncheck unlock animations

I cant seem to get 2.2 froyo this is really annoying me as i have been waiting forever as so have all of you. my problem was that every time i went to system update it said check for update is not available at this time now it just says checking for updates forever and doesnt stop any ideas?

have you rebooted since the update? if not try that. I keep hearing this issue but have not had that problem myself.

So do you think the DX was searching for Wifi networks all day? How else would it pick up my wireless network when I pulled in my driveway?

Try connecting to a wifi spot then try to update see if that helps.

I have never rooted and I get the update server not available at this time when im on 3g when i connect to wifi i get never ending checking for update

Thanks Agent...rebooting now to see if that works.

I had problems this morning as well. Kept searching for updates, and kept telling me that updates were not available. After a few times, it popped up with the update. Keep trying!

go to
settings
data manager make sure to turn on background data and data enabled is checked if it is not that might be your problem.

sounds as if your 3G connection was substandard when you were trying to update.
