Notification that wont go away!

I keep receiving a notification of "text message not sent" even when I'm not testing. Its a black envelope with a red "X" on it that appears in the notification bar. When I try to access it from the notifications section it says "unable to display message". I've tried hitting clear but it comes back. I've rebooted and done battery pulls but it doesn't correct it. I turned off displaying texts in the notification bar but then I don't receive an audible notification either.

Anybody know how to remedy this?

+1 For Handcent. Yesterday another member had a similar issue installed Handcent and the issue was resolved. Let us know if it works for you.

Agree! I switched in Dec 09 and still use it. Now, you can add themes.

I downloaded it. Is there anything I need to do now? Will I still be accumulating text messages in the native text app?

its awesome i really enjoy it, but my wife hated it on her Ally....

yes you will still have to get those. but you want to go into your "stock" messaging app and disable all notifications... cuz if you don't then your phone will be going nuts.......... also if you want to you can add a tone to each person instead of everyone being the same

Great, thank you all. It seems pretty cool so far. Only thing that's throwing me off a little bit is the process to actually send a new message seems a little bit more tedious. Is it necessary to register an online acct?
