Note 4 charger

I broke my note 4 charger this morning. I dropped my phone with the charger in it and the cord bent. I ordered a new charger from Verizon this morning but my question is if I just put a generic cord in the port would it charge fast?

That's a good question. I just plugged the cord from my Nexus 7 in to the fast charger for the note 4 & it said fast charging enabled.

As long as the cable is compatible with the phone, that is as long as the phone "sees" power at the Micro USB end, and if the charger is putting out the right voltages and amperage (i.e. it's a rapid/turbo charger), it will fast charge.

I can confirm that. Used a third party cord and, when used with the fast charge Samsung plug, it gave me the fast charge notification.

I also have used cords that came with my older Samsung phones and have not had any issues and have had the fast charging

Any micro USB charger that's capable of 2 Amps(2000mA) works fine for fast charging.
