not understanding wifi vs phone datastream

Hi all, New to a phone with wifi. Assuming I am home with wifi and I have turned wifi on my Droid, does Droid first try to use wifi before resorting to datastream?

Yes.

WiFi is (generally) faster and free, so it will use that, if available.

BTW: The "Phone:" field is for the make/model, not your phone number. If you post your phone number on forums, you are likely to wind up on telemarketing lists.
