Not turning on

I was in third hour when I heard the iconic droid startup sound three times in a row, then my startup up tone. After managing to secretly turn it to silent, it was after school when I turned it back on with no problems so I dropped it back into my pocket......then I heard the droid sound all the way home untill I realized something was a lot more wrong then I had originaly thought, so I took out the battery and turned it out because it was getting really hot. I've made no new progress besides multiple attemps that resulted in nothing new.

PLEASE HELP-Thanks

Is it rooted with a custom recovery? If not u might want to factory reset from the bootloader but first charge your battery all the way with your phone off and see if that fixes it, maybe your battery has died.

If it's not rooted, you may have a bad app or something. You can try uninstalling apps (starting with the last one that you installed), or you can try to factory reset and start from scratch.

Yeah I don't know how to do that because it won't turn on
(do u guys understand my problem)

This is the procedure to hard reset from the stock recovery: Hard Reset - Motorola Droid 3 (XT862)

Basically, with the phone off, slide open the keyboard, hold the "X" key and press power (while still holding x) until you see the recovery screen. Well, you can follow the instructions on that page as well as i can retype them. Hopefully this will work. If not, it's time to call for a warranty replacement. (You may need to charge the battery with the device off first if the battery is now drained.)

What does a hard reset do exactly?

You should have the option of factory resetting (wipes all user data), or wipe app data and cache.

On the X, press both volume buttons together, that should bring up the boot options. Might be slightly different on your device.

You could also try getting into safe mode and uninstall your most recent apps. Hold s on keyboard while phone boots up till you see a lock screen.
