Is it bad I haven't installed the fixed version of gb and I think I downloaded the first release from tbh app the day of release. Should I download the new one? What problem s could I yun into on this one,? I have yet to do a whole battery discharge because when I reboot my phone goes to clock work and I'm not sure if I drain out the powe r it'll be turned on right.. I'm attempting a battery drain today but nervous lol.

If you installed the first release of GingerBread, you have the unrooted version.

If you downloaded the 2nd release, you have the Pre-Rooted version, and you can verify this by looking in your app drawer to see if you have the Super User icon as well as checking any "root" required apps.

If you are on the 1st release, then you cant install the Deodexed release...which really isnt an issue unless you are prone to installing themes since they require you to be deodexed.

Rebooting into CWM isnt really an issue...and actually may be credited as a good thing...assuming you were having issues and needed to install a back-up file straight due to massive force closings that render the device damn near impossible to operate.(I experienced this issue with my GB install last weekend...a nightmare!)

Well im thinking you might be in rooted version of GB but then again if you got the first release of it then its most likely not rooted and the custom recovery is just a remainder and i think an annoyance but nice at the same time. What made that dissappear for me was to uninstall the Droid X Bootstrapper and use the D2 Bootstrapper instead. But the Deodexed version of GB does not make it any better, in fact it will slow things down...well technically. The only advantage to the deodexed version is, like stated above, themes and thats it. So you wont need it unless you want to apply a theme which there arent many of yet.

If i remember correctly, you can keep from booting into CWM by going to Bootstrap app and clicking "Bootstrap Recovery", wait for Success, then power off the device...do not immediately click "Reboot Recovery"...this "should" kick the reboot process back to normal booting...YMMV.

Speed of the device using themes is dependent greatly on the theme and how well it was put together...some are slower than stock, while others are noticeably faster. Liberty and Rubix/Apex for instance are quite faster than stock MotoBlur or stock with Launcher Pro or ADW loaded as the launcher...because they has been stripped down and optimized to run quicker.

True on the themes for GB...as of right now I believe there are only 3...
1) [THEME] Green GingerBread - DX on GB leak

2) [THEME] ALPHA-1 Stock Gingerbread for DX

3) [THEME] Gingercomb with a touch of Juice - 2.3 Gingerbread Theme
I am at this time utilizing this theme...and it is nicely put together and functions well. It also has 2 nice little additions.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wClA8sU5SH8&feature=player_embedded"]CRT Off Animation Honeycomb boot animation
