I doubt Verizon will let him/her get the unlimited data back, not the way they have been burning thru the data.
So you weren't joking, you are a data monster. Almost 4 gigs in 3 days. Most of it is Play store, so...you're streaming TV shows?
Forgive my preachy tone, but: you REALLY should have opened this thread with a clear statement that you can consume 10 gigs in a week. It would have saved a lot of misunderstanding and frustration, and the gang here (me included) would have tried a bit harder to save your unlimited plan. To be fair -- as a wise person recently told me, "The forum is here to help people but NOT solve their personal problems" -- it's none of our business how you get along with your parents and what their expectations are (for example, do they expect you to help pay for your phone/usage). So let's not get into that.
My *personal* advice stands: from what you've told us so far, if I were in this situation I would sit down with my parents, explain that I felt it was a mistake to use the upgrade on my line, and that I'd like to speak with customer service at VZW to see how they can help. But I don't speak for anyone else here, it's just the way I'd go. There's a very good argument to be made that you should leave things as is and accept the circumstances.
Whichever way you go, remember that you are burning through your data plan and you'll blow past the 4GB cap soon. If I were your dad, I'd have put usage alerts in place and I'd probably pull the phone out of your hands at this point. If you do decide to sit down and have that conversation with your parents, I'd also recommend you come as an adult and take full responsibility for the charges you're adding. You might also start doing some research into "internet addiction." LOL Remember, the first step is to admit you have a problem.Just my 2 cents.

I will also chime in here...
To the OP, TuBitMittens;
This is a LONG thread (9 pages and 85 replies both ways), and there have been many people who have given the best of their time and energy to assist you in finding a suitable solution to your dilemma. Some things are not resolvable in an amicable way for all parties and this may be one. Compromise is a way to a resolution and since the carrier can't compromise, the only ones left to compromise are you and your mother.
You can not have a 4G phone on a 4G carrier and not have a 4G data plan. It is just physically impossible. You can have the plan and not communicate on 4G by turning off the 4G radio, but the fact still remains that you will be paying as if you are a 4G customer none the less. And regarding plans, there are the one you are on and the ones they now offer. If the plan you are on cannot be continued, then you are relegated to taking one of the plans currently offered by the carrier. We can rationalize why this is either fair or not, whether it's acceptable or not, but the end game is, it is what it is.
I am seeing several members reaching a point of frustration with this thread and it may have outlived its usefulness. Also I've been informed you opened a similar thread at http://www.droidforums.net/forum/samsung-galaxy-s4/250471-will-using-wireless-tether-another-phone-access-my-g4-use-data.html which is little more than an identical twin of this thread. We do have rules on the forum for double-posting and double-thread subjects, so the other thread will be closed now by me to end that.
I have seen several attempts to get to the root of your concerns with being asked how much data you use, but I've yet to see you address that. While you believe yourself to be a "heavy user", the truth is you may be well under the limits of one of the lower tiered plans and the end result is you may find that plan you could choose which would have sufficient overhead for you is actually less than the "unlimited" plan you are trying to amputate and grow into its own clone of the original.
I am going to try to address your concerns directly here and now. Please post your response to my evaluation here, and answer the question of the amount of data you believe you use individually each month as an average, as well as what you believe might be your top limit of data usage and I will attempt to help you find the best solution. But I will be very concise and if I feel we can't find a solution for you here, I will be quick to put an end to the vacillation.
Not streaming tv shows but my sister probably is just a lot of facebook uploading and what not(shared plan)
4gb data plan I mean. And its shared. That usage I posted is NOT from me alone. This thread could be closed by mods. But id like it to stay up here so I could reread the posts. And I didnt mean to cause frustration. There ended uo being more posts on here than I thought.

OK, now the mystery deepens!
The 622 MB of generic internet usage lines up with Facebook...but...how do we explain the 1.96 GB for the Play Store?
Remember, I'm assuming that the screen you posted is *your* usage, not both you and your sister -- correct?
What's your guess for why half of your monthly usage is already gone thanks to the Play Store? Possibilities:
(1) Downloading video content (movies/TV)
(2) Downloading games with HUGE data libraries -- oh wait, I just realized (for example) Iron Man has an 860 GB data file with it
So that may be it...download a few gigantic games? If so, we're back to where we started and you're just an average consumer. If indeed that's the case, all you need to do is make sure you turn off data at home (easy to do it either manually or automatically) and switch to wifi. THAT might have cut your usage for August (so far) down to nothing!
You can help a lot as this thread grows to try to answer questions as quickly and specifically as you can!If there's something you don't understand or are unfamiliar with, don't hesitate to ask for help!

You are just blazing through your data allotment, you weren't kidding when you said you were a heavy data user. If I were you I'd do what gadget mentioned, have a sit down and a real discussion into possibly getting your unlimited plan back. If that's not an option then you'll be on wifi alot more and you'll need to be as to not run up the bill. As for now, it is what it is.
It's possible to get your unlimited data back, but you'll have to be patient, convincing, and realistic about it. Verizon is doing everything in their power to rid of all unlimited plans, no matter how long it takes. They realize that there are loopholes in place and I wouldn't be surprised if someone at HQ is thinking of ways to make those methods impossible now. As gadget also mentioned, had you provided us with more info instead of just "heavy data user", you may have taken the advice given a bit more into consideration. There's only so much that we here at DF can help you with, but if it falls back to personal decision by the account holder, only you can deal with that. We gave you the info you wanted, it was up to you to present those options to whoever is in charge of your phone.
I hope the other pros here will agree, but my advice is: definitely DO NOT deal with this in-store!!!! Sorry for being melodramatic, but this is an issue for Verizon Wireless customer service. Call them and *remember* to politely have your issue escalated to a supervisor if the front-line rep is unwilling to budge. Have one of your parents call (and of course, with their permission) ask to be put on the line. You'll have to make your case very cooly and logically -- just calmly explain that your parents did not accurately estimate your monthly data usage before using the upgrade and that you would like to be put back on unlimited. TO BE 100% CLEAR, the "elephant in the room" is what to do with your new phone. It is very likely that they will either ask you to pay full price for it, or if you're REALLY clever, you can have it switched to another line (that already has limited data). But for sure they will say "no" a bunch of times first. Not sure how im gonna go about getting it back. Im from new york and before I upgraded I called a store in manhattan and they said it mighy be possible to keep the unlimited but since my mother is the "account holder" she refused to go there and get it more locally( i know its pathetic and a separate issue.) Im gonna try calling that same store again and go myself and see what could b3 done.
Can someone on a shared plan please confirm?I THINK its our usage together.

TBM, if that *is* mostly your sister, she needs to be taken out back and given a firm talking-to! :cus:

Or this one? Not sure which menu I should go by. Of course they were taken at different times but im wondering what I should pay more attention to
I wouldn't call the store and instead call Verizon directly. Going through the store could just be another roadblock in your way to try and get your unlimited data back. Not sure how im gonna go about getting it back.
