Okay, right now I have the D1 and I love that I have full control over it, Well, I'm gonna upgrade as soon as a forward facing camera phone comes out, cause I work on the road and Face-Talk with my family would be awesome.

Anyway, is it safe to assume that the new Htc Devices will be fully rooted or partially locked like motorola. I guess I could just wait and see before I buy but I have had My D1 since release day and I can't wait to upgrade. I just don't want to be hindered as far as what I can do with my own device.

Any input would be great, Thanx.

HTC is going to be locking their phones down too. I've heard that a work around is already being worked on though.

DroidForums junkie!!

I have herd that devices like the G2 that are NAND locked, already have permanent root. so you shouldn't have to worry much.

New devices will most likely be locked imo. However there are many "hackers" out there and will work their magic soon enough to unlock them.

Generally they work pretty quick. Like mentioned earlier the nand locked g2 received permanent root after like two weeks iirc
