You want to grab a program called Extreme Call Blocker Droid from the Android Market. It's not free - couple of bucks, if I recall - but it works quite well, with numerous ways you can set it up to get rid of telemarketers (hang up immediately, no voice mail), an ex-girlfriend (send directly to voice mail), things like that.
i agree but there might be a setting where you can block calls im not sure because i havent set it up or you can also go to your service provider and they might be able to do it for free im not sure
There are apps and you can use Google Voice. It might help to clarify what your specific goal is. Keep in mind that apps can't prevent you from being billed for blocked calls.
I use a free app from the market called Easy Filter, and so far I like it a lot. If you go through your carrier to block calls, they will charge you for that service (Verizon does at least).
I have blocked call feature with Verizon which is part of my Family Plan. they do not charge per # at all. I have blocked websites as well on this plan. its part of Verizon safeguards. it also blocks text/picture/video msgs
I'm not sure what all the hassle is about. It's very easy to download an app from the market (paid or free) which accomplishes the goal. The issue of getting charged by Verizon is pretty minor - the program I use simply disconnects the incoming call, so what do I get charged for, one minute of air time. The paid programs are *cheap*, like a couple of bucks, and they DO work, so what do you stand to lose? If those calls are a problem for you, download a program and solve the problem.
Pay extra? Come ON, we're talking a couple of BUCKS here. I lose that amount in change in a weeks time.
My point though is that if you've got a problem, and the posters apparently do - why not simply *resolve* the thing, and be done with it, even if it requires you to spend a small amount of money?
Lol again why would I wanna pay few bucks if its included in my plan? too funny
anyway my hubby says why didn't u answer ur phone, didn't u see my# ? and I said, yes but I was screening my calls and saw ur name so I didn't want to answer. LOL
