So, anyone else get an email like this? Asking me to sign up if I want to attend this so called "soak test" My thing is, I am rooted running CM7 with a sick theme. I couldn't be happier. I like the FACT that there is still work being done on our X2 but I have also been seeing that the OG Droid X recently got an OTA that crashed everyones root, cannot SBF to any of their previous builds, and no works on gaining root again. I don't want the same to happen to the X2 but this email just lurked me. I think I may hold off and see how the first person posts about it. I have learned to humble myself when coming to OTA's. Thoughts anyone? Thanks for sharing.

I did also, my X2 did a restart and now says "Starting RSD protocol support" and it's been like that for an hour! My phone is NOT rooted.
Now what do I do?
Just when I thought things were running smoothly!

beware recent moto updates ( d2g, and droid x) have changed bootloader, making it impossible to sbf to earlier versions, and blocking root hacks
of you try sbf you may brick your phone

Yea the more n more I read on the latest, made me go back to root. Cannoy live without CM7! lol. But I also downloaded OTA rootkeeper by voodoo so if anything does come, I'm covered. I heard one person with the X used this app on their latest update and was able to keep root! Unbelievable but don't see why he/she would lie.

I'm planning on skipping this update. It makes root difficult. I ran the 1.3.412/2.3.5 update that leaked out a while back, and you can root it with zergRush, but something in the system remounts the system directories and files as RO often. I was editing the build.prop and tried to save (already mounted the system as RW), and it failed. I had to copy the entire build.prop to clipboard, remount the system as RW, reopen the build.prop, select all, paste, then save. It was successful then, but as I said, something makes it really finicky even with root. I flashed back to 1.3.380/2.3.4, and definitely won't be updating anytime soon.

+1. Thats why I am glad CM7 is based off the 2.3.4 build. Rooted with zergrush as well. I have flashed Eclipse as well which says to be on 2.3.5 which I tried as well but eclipse just cant compare to CM.

Yeah its pretty strange... I think MOTO has dropped the ball on this. Or maybe its something really cool... like they heard the outcry from X2 owners and they're actually rethinking an ICS release.... yeah right... then I woke up. Lmao
