I am one that thinks the Bionic is "all that". It's fast, smooth and I love the display. This is the best screen in the sunshine that I've ever seen - though the RAZR's screen may as good in sun (I've never seen one in person).

Good luck and you are so lucky to have such great phones from which to pick.

It all depends on what you are looking for.

-If you are a heavy user and like the capability to swap out batteries when needed, then the RAZR is not for you because it doesn't have a removable battery.

-If you are really anal about screen quality then the bionic MAY not be for you. Amoled screens like the razr is supposed to have look really good indoors but can be very hard to see in direct sunlight. The pentile grid type screen that the bionic has is great in all environments but can be slightly pixelated.

-If you are considering a phone based on custom developer support, the bionic already has a huge community behind it, where the RAZR may not have a huge dev community behind it. The lack of being able to perform a battery pull may have some devs shying away. The RAZR supposedly has a hard reset built into the hardware buttons but it's yet to be seen what this will actually do. If it just performs a reboot than that is not going to help you if your stuck on a bootloop after flashing a custom rom.

-There are many factors to consider and you need to think about what you are looking for in a phone. Once you have that figured out, compare the two and see which one fits you best. I think they will both be great phones and I think both are marketed toward a specific demographic.

I just got back from Verizon and played with the Bionic. Wow this phone is fast! The screen is great very clear and the pentile display doesn't bother me at all. I compared it to the T-bolt and the Charge and it was much better than both.

They get their Razor's tomorrow or the next day. Woo hoo choices choices choices!

If you want to have a phone that will leave you stranded when you want to use it's data connection the most, then the Bionic will not disappoint you.

But don't worry, there's a patch due out in early November that's not really gonna be pushed out until January 2012 that will "fix" everything. Just don't try to use your phone's data connection until then and you won't have any problems with your brand new Bionic.

:p

I am sure glad I NEVER had a data problem like that, I would probably be bitter too!

I must have got one if the good ones because I have had none of the issues that I read in here. I think it is a great phone and know it will keep me occupied until next year when we get to see the new batch of smart phones!

You just jinxed yourself my friend. Lol. Like mine.. it was fine for the first week. Then some minor problems here and there. Then 2 weeks ago... all hell broke loose. Give it time... and then you will see the light..haha. All Bionics suffer the data problem. It may be sheer luck yours hasn't dropped it or rebooted magically. But it will happen... it will...muahahaha.

Heh. I'm just relaying my experience. I'm not trying to "bad mouth" the phone because I'm some sort of "fanboi" of another phone... but this phone is seriously messed up when it cannot get a data connection for no good reason.

I just think some folks would like to know that before making a purchase, and the OP asked, so I was giving him the lowdown about the Bionic issues.

Was I supposed to keep it a secret?

Not ALL Bionics have the data issue as somebody claimed.
No not all. Just a majority. In fact all my friends who upgraded or flat out bought it here in Hawaii.... all have lost data. Well except one who says he doesn't use it but just connects to wifi. But then he said he tried to 3g/4... it wouldn't come back so he went back to wifi...lol.

Maybe YOU just jinxed me! Just kidding, I have had mine since Sept 15 and it has just been a great phone. I came from a DX that had every ROM you could put on it and was starting to get a slow. Same day I got the Bionic I rooted it and have kept it ROM free as of now, don't know if that has helped or not but no problems!
