New Official 2.3.4

I got the update from verizon to update to 2.3.4

I originally had 2.3.3 that was rooted. I used pete's root kit to root the 2.3.3.

Now that i'm updated, it seems that i can't root using pete's root kit, even though there was another forum that said you can.

i think i get to step 3 of the root process, and it just fails, saying that i might have gingerbread that might have the fix for this exploit.


anyone else having this issue or has rooted the offical 2.3.4?

Did you sbf? Or was this an OTA? How did Verizon get you this update???

wow...your like OFFICIALLY the first person I've seen post this. What state are you in? (if you dont mind me asking.) As to your question, I'm not sure as I am myself am waiting for this OTA. Have been manually checking the system update like every hour and still can't catch it lol. I'm sure someone will know the answer to your question though. Just gotta wait for the right person with that knowledge. I'm still a noob to all of this stuff! :icon_eek:

Its missing the Widgets in the notification bar. Its got the TV screen close out .... and the task manager icon is different. Other then that... same as stock 2.3.3

wonder when others will get this OTA...Tech support said its pushed out in markets. Weird how this process goes. And no one knows how and when it comes to them?

A side question, what is everyone else getting in Quadrant? I'm hitting 1977 but that seems lower to what I've heard. Any thoughts?

Here is another question... What are people using as a root manager for their phone? Titanium? new to rooting and I'm trying to find a app for freezing ect. Suggestions?
