New Droid X and a couple of questions.

First off I tried searching and didn't come back with much, so if I am blind, sorry

I am going to assume that apps I can't uninstall (Kindle, Blockbuster) are apps that I am stuck with (because they are part of the ROM?)

Under the security settings I changed the lock type to pattern. Now when I leave the phone sitting for 20 minutes (I am aware I can change that option) it will enable the patten lock, but I still have to go through the slide lock first. However is what I really want is to disable the initial slide lock (when slide and sound are my two options) and have the phone go right to the pattern lock?


Coming from the BB world the learning curve for this is rather large, but I am already much much happier with this phone.

Yes the pre installed apps can only be removed if you root the phone. As for the lock pattern thing you're also out of luck, it is a complaint I've heard several times and it gets addressed in certain custom roms but on stock there's no way to change it.
