Hey all, I just got my new Droid setup and I'm wondering if anyone has any pointers. Apps I can't live without, Droid tips you wished you knew when you first started, etc. I would appreciate any help!

Thanks!

Use the Search Feature here......Very Helpful....
Stumped??? Just ask...

Oh...Welcome to the Madness....:icon_ devil:

Happy to hear there's another new Droid user and welcome to the forum.

If I could recommend an app it would have to be Handcent. It's a 3rd party texting app, and it far surpasses the stock messaging, so I would say get that.

If you're into sports, get Sportstap. Has every sport and lists the games in real time with play-by-play and everything, it's great!

Again, welcome to the forums and have fun with your new Droid!

Spend the next few days reading forums. There is an extreme wealth of information.

Apps:

Home++ is home page replacement that gives you 7 pages instead of 3.
K-9 is a mail program that is pretty good too.
Astro Player is a very good audio player
PhoneMyPc lets you control your pc from the droid (works great)
Documents To Go lets you work with Word, Excel, and PDF docs
"Where" lets you find good stuff around you (rest., shopping, etc.)
My Bookmark lets you import your pc bookmarks

I could go on and on. Like I said, just read the forums and you'll find the ones that look right to you personally.

Have fun, :icon_ banana:

Remember, the "LONG" touch is your friend. It brings up a menu when you may not know one is available. Long touch on contact names you get a menu, same on lots of other things.

my favorite thing about the droid so far is all the internet radio apps. if you like internet radio on your phone there is DroidLive (Shoutcast radio) and of course Pandora and LastFM.

spend some time searching around on here. there are a lot of little things to learn. welcome to the forum. :-)

Bluetooth file transfer. Can..within limits... manage folders along with transferring songs, pics, ringtones .. to your any other compatible bluetooth device.

Task killer. My most used app.
