Need opinions on rooting

Well my thunderbolt will be here tomorrow. I have been reading about rooting and dont know much about it. My thing is I want something that is easy to do and has the best outcomes. The biggest reason I want to root is so I can get tethering. Im sure there are other things to but thats the only one I can think of right now. So which version is the best. Thanks.

Look up thread called auto root. The tb isnt the easiest phone to root, i used the auto root directions and got the job done
