Need Help with email alert tone

I would greatly appreciate it if someone can give me a step by step on how to diactivate the tone I receive when an email come into the in box. The thing tones all day and night!:icon_ banana:
I just received the droid 2 days ago, so I'm a newby!

Open the email app, hit the menu button on your phone (the four horizontal lines stacked on each other)

From there it'll depend which email app your using.

Gmail for instance you would hit the menu button, select more, select settings, and scroll all the way down to Notification settings and set it up however you wish.

Different email apps may be slightly different, but that menu button and notification settings are what you're looking for.

Edit to add: this is pretty much standard procedure for notifications and settings for any app. Hit that menu button and do some exploring.
