About a month ago, I get an 'IM' from a '[email protected]' wanting to chat. At first I thought it had something to do with Twitter. It didn't take but a couple lines to figure out that it was a) not from Twitter, and b) a chat-bot. I got a little freaked out thinking it might be viral related, so I wiped my phone. I haven't seen it since then, but today it came back, but with the email addy '[email protected]'. I'm not going to click on it knowing what it is...but I want it GONE. To my knowledge, I don't have any apps that would cause this, nor do I root my phone. I know there are some friggin brilliant peeps here on DroidForums, and am asking for help getting rid of this.

217 views...no replies. K, am I not asking the right question, not in the right forum, or not enough detail?

have you tried installing air push detector in the market? That may give you a clue about what is causing this.

Are you signed in to Talk?

If you look in your apps list there is a program called "Talk" more commonly known as gtalk.

If you aren't then that's not what it is. Do you have another chat client installed? Like for AOLIM or MSN Messenger?

Ok so I am now glad that I was not the only one who is getting this...
Around 4am this morning I got a "IM" from [email protected] and about couple months or so...(on a totally different phone but same google account) I received one from a [email protected]. I had the option to CHAT, CANCEL (i think) or BLOCK. I blocked both of them and they are on my blocked list on google talk. Also note that i am
"INVISIBLE" on google talk....

I am now getting "process com.motorola.home.other" that pops up randomly today... not sure if they are related or not but it's getting annoying

That's what happens you use your email address to sign up for free stuff on the web. 3rd party advertising, survey, stupid stuff like that.

 I am sorry but reading this post and the OP grim picture made me chuckle. This is an annoying event. The only way you can do to fix this is use a new IM account and add your trusted friends back to that account. You have to burn that old account as it seems the email address been sold out! Use the old ones for your spam mail for now on. Nothing to do with the phone as when you connect your IM account to PC you will still receives bothersome "sexy chat".

Guidot, I've never used GTalk, or even the IM for that matter, but I did install that app...found nothing. As as far as signing up for free stuff on the net, I don't...but anything is possible on the Net. If I have to get a new gmail account, that's really going to suck :( As long as its not someone using some tool to have a back door into my phone, I guess I can put up with it. Thanks for the help guys.
