Need better Contacts app

I just switched from Blackberry to Droid. I love everything about the Droid except the Contacts is a pretty weak app. I can't find many contacts because I can't see or group by the "category" and I can't search on the "company" field!

I need the following in a contacts app:
- sync (check)
- sort by last name (no)
- group by "category" field (no)
- search by "first name", "last name" and "company" fields (no)
- display "first name", "last name" and "company" fields (no)

Any hope of improving built in app or any suggestions for an alternative app?

sort by last name: contacts -> menu -> sort list by (last)
press the search button when in the contacts app

Granted those aren't all the things you wanted but theres two to help you.

I just thought about it, I am running froyo so it may be different for you. the search one will still work though.

Cool, didn't know 2.2 had added the sort by last name feature.

This app: Cards (-) PIM - Android app on AppBrain might give more flexibility about displaying company names.
