As long as the music files are compatible with Android, yes it's that easy. I think the Z Force cannot see / play any music files in WMA format but MP3 is fine. I did that same thing with about 4GB of music I ripped from CD'S years ago and it worked fine in my Droid Maxx, Turbo, Turbo 2, Z Force, Z Play and Z2 Force.
I created a folder on my SD card called Music. Then copied the MP3 files (or other compatible format) to that folder from my laptop. Then popped the card in my phone, turned it on and Play Music displayed all the music. Worked really good for me.
