Moving from Sprint Hero To Big Red Droid

Well I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get on Verizon for the better coverage. Just hope messing with this phone is as easy as the Hero. Anyone wants to give me some pointers have at it. And btw looking at going Froyo. Already running it on the Hero. So ROM recommendations and rooting info welcome. Thanks.

Welcome! I sure you will find VZW's coverage much better. There is an excellent FAQ section in the Forum as well as a section for hacking.

Thanks Mike. I have already found the root thread and it seems like it should be cake. Will really know tomorrow when my phones get here. Couldn't pass up the phone on Amazon for .01. Although I may return one for a Droid Inc. I have also found a nice thread with some custom ROM's with 2.1 and 2.2. Now time to read up on them to see what people feel about them. Leaning towards cyanogen though as thats what I have right now on my hero. Guess I also need to look into the OC kernel's to see which one's run best on what ROM's.
