Movie to tv

I have downloaded a few movies to my motorola droid razr. I use a downloader and astro. I then transfer to laptop and put on flashdrive. I have usb ports on my tv so I simply insert the flashdrive. However, I should be able to save a step and use a usb from phone to tv but when I do I can not figure out how to play the movies? When my media starts on tv there is nothing under the movie file on the tv. Can anyone help me?

Why not get through HDMI to micro HDMI cable? Once you plug it in, you'll see your screen /movies pop up.
