N3 tapa
You don't need a tablet. You already have a phablet. Or is it a thone. Do you actually hold that ginormous thing up to your head to talk??? I visualize that kinda like people taking pictures in public with iPads. LOL

Hey stop picking on us phablet people besides after awhile you get use to the size. Plus once you go phablet you do not ever want to go back to a phone.
I personally Like the Moto X.. as I just got one. Ive been looking at phones and what was coming out for months, cause I wanted to make sure the phone I got was worth losing unlimited data.. luckily for me, I got my Moto X when that "glitch" happened.
Ive been a tech nerd and usually like the best and fastest phone.. i'll tell you, the X might not be the best on paper, but using it.. wow, i fell in love.
Mind you I'm upgrading from a D4.. which isnt that old if you really think about it, but the improvements are incredible.
As said in the video here, call quality, its amazing on the X, doesnt sound tinny, nice crisp sound. Speakerphone is also great, the speaker is loud and crisp and no need to hold it up closer to your ear.
The screen is vibrant, especially when you have the brighness all the way up. Ive had many people comment on how well vidoes look on my phone. I believe the screen looks so well because of the AMOLED.
AMOLED brings me to another point that I think this video may have missed.. battery life. We all know that 50% or more of the battery is used from the screen... no im not sure how many people here.. i would assume most of you.. understand hw AMOLED screens work... each pixel creates its own light meaning there is no need for backlighting.. so when there is a part of the screen that is black, the pixel is actual off.. this is why blacks are much deeper on the X vs the nexus... AMOLED screens naturally show more vibrant colors, because there isnt an additional light that washes some of the color.. this is my first AMOLED phone, and I must say I found it quiteee intriguing.
There are many features of the X that you may say there cool, but you'll never use it.. like the touchless control... which true.. you may not use it a lot, especially cause you look kind of insane when you say "ok google now" in public.. i swear people watch thinking your about to transform or something -___- ... anyways, i found myself using it today when I needed to start the navigation.. I had a state truck team trooper behind me while towing a car.. sooo i just told the phone to navigate to blah blah blah, and off i went, no need to touch the phone!
The camera gesture.. when you watch videos on how to do it, looks silly right? when you actually do it, its not as weird as youd think, takes a little getting use to, as you wont trigger it everytime when you first get the phone, but eventually you get use to it and it triggers easily.. it vibrates to let you know youve triggered the camera.. and ill tell ya, its quite a handy gesture especially when you need to snap a picture quick.. like of a car at an accident scene!
Music quality.. this is something that matters to me as im a music buff. The speaker on the phone is phenomenal!! Absolutely awesome! I did not expect hearing that quality of sound coming from some holes on the back of the phone. Rich tones, and even low tones (bass) come through quite nice!
Im not sure if its improvements in bluetooth technology over the past year, or the phone its self.. but I use the Google Play Music alot, and like to link my phone to my car. With my Droid 4, it was nice being able to connect, but the quality of the sound wasnt great, not much bass was passed through, sounded like the radio if not worse, and nothing like my iPod connected directly.. with the Moto X, it sounds EXACTLY like my ipod (which again its connecte directly through a cable).. full sound including bass, no need to turn the car radio up high to actually hear it (yes the volume was always up on either phone)
All in all, this is my rant.. and sor of a review, on the Moto X.. and this seemed like the place to share at the moment!.. as true with any phone, theres always room for improvement, but 4.4 should be rolling out soon for the X, so we shall see how that works. But IMHO, I think Motorola has hit the nail on the head with a user friendly phone, that is inexpensive (....with contract) and is easy for a non tech savy, or new to smartphones.. basically your "average joe" to use..
If you ask me, it seems as if Moto is trying to take Apple head on. The specs for the Moto G were just leaked, and its a dumbed down version of the X, the x is middle of the road (but still awesome) and also offers customization (ironic apple does the iphone 5c shortly after the X was released). If i was a betting man, id bet that Motorolla will announce, leak, release, what have you, a Moto X like phone that has all the high end pats, best cpu, best gpu, bigger screen, more memory etc etc.. to compete with the iphone 5c. It seems like Moto has taken a few ques from steve jobs.. dont try to reinvent something, make it something everyone needs to have
I said this when I first got my X, and I CRINGED when I said it, but by focusing on the user experience and the smooth interaction between hardware and software, Motorola has made the most iPhone-like Android phone yet. And by that I mean, it does not have the latest octa-core processor, the biggest screen, or the fanciest GPU. IT JUST WORKS. And it works extremely well!+1 to all of this.
I'm sort of a tech nerd myself, and I love getting the latest and greatest in specs and new technology.
Does the X look the best on paper? Nope. The specs are not the best. However, I REALLY like how they took "older" specs, polished them up, and made a great phone with remarkable user experience.
I've come to find that you can have a phone with the latest and greatest specs, but because the newest technology isn't perfected, it may not give the best user experience.
By perfecting technology that has already been around, I believe that Moto has made a great phone with neat features and a great user experience. I think they are on to something here, and I hope it takes off like wildfire...
IT JUST WORKS.
I agree. The X is the average Joe phone. The N5 is a power user phone.
