Motorola updates Bionic ICS Update Schedule

Meanwhile my single core running bionic has a quadrant score of about 2000 and my wife's Pantech Marauder just knocked out 5 grand. I'm going to go shoot myself.

If they can manage to finally get us on ICS, and then get the RAZR and D4's ICS up to the level ours is at, they will have achieved their "unified build" and will likely base JellyBean off of that. Being that JellyBean is not a major OS version release, it is actually quite likely that they WON'T have to send us 100 dollars.

I love that while we're getting ICS much later than all the other phones, we will have the least bugs out of all of them. :3

Dave, I like your silver lining perspective and this sounds about right to me. Of choose @hashcode0f and @dhacker29 look to be closing on on a stable, fully functional CM10 so it seems a pretty good chance that'll be the route I go before JB is official on Bionic.

Though I think my biggest reason for any custom ROM is a truly useful set of notification pulldown toggles so if Android would include those I'd probably be fine with stock. Weird, I know.

At this late date, why are they even wasting time with ICS?? Jelly Bean is already out for crying out loud!!

Because Punit and the rest of Motorola basically need to play "catch-up" right now. By continuously delaying software releases, Verizon got Motorola into a mess of missing update deadlines, and they put Punit to the head of Motorola at the worst moment. He's basically cleaning up the **** mess that the previous management made.

Q4 huh? Looks like I'll be rooting and playing around with custom ROMs again. After tweaking my Bionic quite a bit I went back to stock 905 in anticipation of an imminent OTA to ICS. Thanks VZW. Makes me want to ditch the Bionic and start using my old Palm Pre again (don't laugh) :)

All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi...

I think Im actually gonna just keep mine the way it is. Yeah, I have a couple issues with the browser and Bluetooth connectivity, but its not something I cant manage. I have a good feeling ICS is gonna be here within week one of October. ICS is basically ready as it is

Yeah I played around with EclipseROM but had a couple issues with corporate sync that I couldn't figure out. Now it looks like I've got time to tinker.

The most frustrating thing in this entire debacle is I have no idea who to believe is at fault. Verizon seems to be blaming Motorola, and Motorola seems to be blaming Verizon.

ICS works fine. The leaks prove that. Motorola has delivered. Verizon has the final say, they are the ones who keep holding up the OTA. Facts are facts, and they point to VZW as the fault.

Exactly.
Speaking of which, are we supposed to be getting news tomorrow still? From the looks of it we have a pretty good idea whats going on at this point already.

ugh the bionic is a dual core phone

I'm not sure if you're aware, but the Bionic is a dual core phone, but everyone running stock right now is running single core. Gingerbread doesn't support dual core.
